Internal Medicine doctors are generally seen as “doctors for adults”. Internists are primary care providers just as family practice or “GPs” however we don’t take care of children or manage pregnancy issues. Usually patients come to our office when they feel they have “outgrown their pediatricians”; and because we only deal with adults our training included extra emphasis on some adult issues such as coronary disease, diabetes, infectious disease, endocrine disorders, pulmonary issues and hospital medicine. As a result, we are comfortable seeing a more complicated patient.
Family Medicine is the medical specialty which provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family. Family physicians possess unique attitudes, skills, and knowledge which qualify them to provide continuing and comprehensive medical care, health maintenance and preventive services to each member of the family regardless of sex, age or type of problem, be it biological, behavioral, or social. These specialists, because of their background and interactions with the family, are best qualified to serve as each patient’s advocate in all health-related matters, including the appropriate use of consultants, health services, and community resources.
Our cohesive and professional staff have been with us for years and are committed to patient care. Our team treats individual patients like a part of our extended family and their upbeat personalities make patients feel comfortable and at ease. The happy staff at our office genuinely enjoy taking care of patients and work hard to improve their overall health and happiness.
Our long-term staff prides itself on being proactive when it comes to adjusting to changes in the healthcare field. Our transition of care program and chronic care management program are headed by two new nursing staff members and help us provide comprehensive care to our valued patients.
Our family-friendly office setting features comfortable seating for patients of all ages, a first-floor entry, and easy-access parking. With extended hours and the ability for our doctors to take urgent calls from patients on nights and weekends, we are available for patients when they need it most. At Internal Medicine and Family Physicians, you’re more than just a number or a disease. We know our patients on a first-name basis and we do everything necessary to reduce stress while providing the highest level of medical care.
We are members of ACOs (accountable care organizations), which hold us accountable for maintaining the highest level of care.
